First communion dresses

A first communion dress has a job that wedding dresses do not: it has to look ceremonial in church and still be comfortable enough for a long family lunch afterwards. Every BELOVA communion dress is designed around that double life.

Length and movement

Most families choose between a knee-length style — lighter, easier to move in, well suited to younger girls — and a longer dress with more structure for a formal ceremony. Both are cut with enough room in the skirt for walking, sitting and getting in and out of a car.

Fabric and finish

We work mainly in tulle, organza and lace over a lined bodice, with details kept restrained: a sash, a covered button line, a discreet bow. The result reads as ceremony in photographs without tipping into costume.

Sleeves, season and comfort

A short sleeve or cap sleeve is the classic answer for spring and summer services. For cooler months add a bolero or a light jacket in the same fabric. Whatever the season, we favour breathable linings — the dress is worn for many hours.
